Who owns what

Members own their contributions. Reviews, photos, and edits belong to the member who made them, licensed to Puff Rate for display as described in the terms.

Puff Rate owns the rest. The site's design, software, editorial content, and the selection, structure, and curation of the cigar database are © Puff Rate. Limited quoting with attribution is welcome — the boundaries are on the fair use page.

Brands own their marks. Cigar brand names, logos, and band artwork remain the property of their respective owners and appear here for identification and commentary.

Reporting infringement

We respect the rights of creators and rights holders, and we respond to notices consistent with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe content on Puff Rate infringes your copyright, send a notice through the contact form, marked "Copyright notice" and including:

• Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed.
• The URL(s) on puffrate.com where the allegedly infringing material appears.
• Your name, mailing address, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for them.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

When we receive a complete notice, we'll review it, remove or disable access to the material where appropriate, and notify the member who posted it.

Counter-notices

If your content was removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice the same way, including: identification of the removed material and where it appeared, your contact information, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the removal was in error, consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts where you reside (or where Puff Rate is operated, if outside the U.S.), and your signature. We may restore the material unless the original claimant files a court action.

Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly post infringing content will be terminated.
