Backstory: The Punch brand has been a staple in cigar humidors since making its debut in 1969 (non-Cuban version). Originally produced by Villazon & Co.
later acquired by General Cigar Co.
now a subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG). The Clasico (also marketed as 'Punch Original') is the flagship/core line of the brand.
Tobacco: Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper over a Connecticut Broadleaf binder with a 3-nation long filler blend of Honduran
Nicaraguan
and Dominican tobaccos. The Broadleaf wrapper contributes sweetness and earthy depth.
Color: Dark brown to very dark brown Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper — consistent with the Maduro color classification.
Fun Fact: The 'London Club' is a traditional cigar size name (5 x 40) — a slim
compact format popular for shorter smoking sessions. Famous Smoke categorizes it as a Panatela shape
while Thompson Cigar lists it as a Petite Corona. BestCigarPrices files it under 'Punch Original' rather than 'Punch Clasico' — both names refer to the same core blend line.
Fun Fact: The original Punch Clasico line has received ratings as high as 91 from Cigar Insider. The London Club Maduro is one of the most affordable premium Maduro options on the market at ~$4.79/stick MSRP.
