Backstory: Released in 2016 to commemorate the 90th birthday of founder José Orlando Padrón. The 1926 Serie itself was launched in 2002 to mark the 75th anniversary of José O. Padrón's birth (born 1926), so the No. 90 extends that personal-milestone tradition with a 90-year tribute vitola.
Release: Debuted 2016 as a permanent addition to the 1926 Serie portfolio. MSRP $19.50 per cigar. Both Natural and Maduro wrapper variants are produced; Natural ships in a cream-colored aluminum tube and Maduro ships in a maroon aluminum tube.
Tobacco: Nicaraguan puro — wrapper, binder, and long-filler are all Nicaraguan-grown. All tobaccos are aged a minimum of 5 years, with some component leaves reportedly aged longer (5–10 years range cited in Padrón marketing).
Color: Natural release shows a milk-chocolate to medium-brown hue with light oil; Maduro release is dark, slightly oily, with a near-black sheen. Standard Padrón rustic-construction veining is visible on both.
Fun Fact: This is the first round (non-box-pressed) vitola in the entire 1926 Serie line and Padrón's first cigar to ship in an aluminum tubo, breaking from the brand's signature box-pressed presentation. The 5½ × 52 round format was chosen specifically to differentiate the 90th-birthday tribute from the rest of the catalog.
Fun Fact: Production is done at Padrón's Tabacos Cubanica S.A. factory in Estelí, Nicaragua — the same facility responsible for the 1964 Anniversary Series and Family Reserve.
User-supplied name 'Padron 1926 Serie No 90' did not specify Natural or Maduro. The Line covers both wrapper variants — variant is left empty since neither was indicated.
