Backstory: CigarKings GmbH was founded in 2016 by Philipp Kugler (with co-founder Tobias Röth, who retired in 2017). The concept began as a project Kugler conceived at age 17, evolved into his university thesis, and finally became a working brand. Headquarters and tax warehouse sit in Munich; production is in Estelí, Nicaragua. The slogan: "Created in Munich, born in Estelí."
Backstory: The Nicaragua line is the brand's core production — every CigarKings cigar is currently made in Nicaragua with Ecuadorian wrappers. The lineup ladders by wrapper: Sun Grown, Maduro, Habano, and Black. Sun Grown is positioned as the lighter, creamier entry point — the milder counterpart to the heavier Maduro.
Backstory: "FT" stands for Flag Tale (sometimes spelled Flag Tail) — a decorative wrapper finish in which a thin ribbon of the wrapper leaf is left to extend past the cap, twisted into a small flag. It is a hand-rolling flourish that signals the entubado construction philosophy CigarKings is known for.
Tobacco: The Coronita FT is rolled in the traditional entubado style — each filler leaf is individually rolled into a tube before bunching, creating distinct channels for smoke to pass through. Filler is Nicaraguan tobacco using only Viso and Seco primings (the lighter and mid-strength leaves, no Ligero), which is the deliberate design choice behind the lower nicotine and creamier profile.
Tobacco: Wrapper is an all-natural Ecuadorian Habano sun-grown leaf. Two undisclosed binders are used. The intent stated by the brand is to deliver flavor complexity normally associated with heavier-bodied cigars while keeping nicotine and body restrained.
Release: Regular production in the CigarKings Nicaragua line, distributed internationally via the CigarKings Group across Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Macao, the Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, and Switzerland. Sold in boxes of 24.
Color: Wrapper reads as a medium reddish-brown — the typical milk-chocolate hue of a sun-grown Ecuadorian Habano leaf, with a soft natural sheen rather than an oily Maduro slick.
Fun Fact: The 4 × 40 Coronita FT is the brand's smallest standard format — pitched as a roughly 45-minute smoke, meant to deliver the full CigarKings flavor signature in a shorter session.
Fun Fact: Reported tasting cues from the brand and retailers describe grass, coffee, and leather with a creamy, smooth draw — the entubado bunching is credited with the slow, even burn.
