Backstory: Bentley Tobacco traces its roots to 1878 as a German pipe manufacturer. Martin Schuster — a fourth-generation cigar producer from the August Schuster family — acquired the company in 2011 and steered it into premium cigars. The brand entered the premium cigar category with the Green Edition in 2017, and the U.S. division (Bentley Tobacco | USA) launched in August 2024 under former La Flor Dominicana VP Jonathan M. Carney as CEO.
Backstory: The White Edition is the milder, Connecticut-wrapped expression in Bentley's color-coded portfolio (Green = bolder Nicaraguan-forward blend; White = morning/afternoon Connecticut profile). Production is handled at the Joya de Nicaragua factory in Estelí.
Release: The Short Corona was announced in April 2025 as a U.S. debut for the format ahead of the 2025 PCA Convention & Trade Show. Sold exclusively in 5-count soft boxes stateside — the 20-count box format used elsewhere is not coming to the U.S. for the White Short Corona. Pricing: $60 per 5-pack ($12/cigar).
Tobacco: All-Nicaraguan binder and filler from the Condega and Jalapa growing regions, with all interior leaf reportedly aged ~3 years for smoothness. Wrapper is an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade seed leaf.
Color: Light tan to golden Connecticut Shade wrapper — silky, even, with the pale uniform appearance typical of shade-grown leaf.
Fun Fact: Bentley's premium cigar lineup is a relatively recent extension of a brand whose 19th-century origins were in pipes and pipe tobacco, and the company still produces cigarillos and spirits alongside its handmade cigar lines.
Fun Fact: The Bentley White Robusto received a Cigar Sense Product Excellence Award in 2023, recognizing balance and construction quality.
Vitola classification: Marketed as a Short Corona at 3 3/4 x 45. No exact 'Short Corona' entry exists in the standard PuffRate vitola list — the closest match is Petit Corona (typical 4.5 x 42), so the marketed name is preserved in customVitola.
