Backstory: Ashton was founded by Robert Levin in 1985. Through a long-standing friendship between Levin and the Fuente family, Ashton's premium production was shifted to the Fuente factory in the Dominican Republic. The Aged Maduro line is blended by Carlito Fuente, drawing on the Fuente family's decades of expertise with aged broadleaf tobacco.

Release: The Aged Maduro line debuted in 2012 as a regular-production blend, but it is sometimes marketed as a limited release because production halts whenever the heavily-fermented Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is unavailable — Ashton will not substitute or rush the wrapper aging.

Tobacco: The wrapper is a selected Connecticut Broadleaf that has been aged through extended fermentation to coax out natural sugars. Binder and filler are Dominican long-fillers from the Fuente family's reserves, also aged for the blend.

Color: The wrapper is described as a deep, dark brown with subtle oils — characteristic of well-fermented broadleaf maduro.

Fun Fact: Despite being a Double Corona by classical dimensions (7½ × 52), Ashton markets this size as No. 60 — part of Ashton's in-house numbered vitola scheme that runs through the line (No. 10, No. 20, No. 50, No. 60, etc.). The numbering is an Ashton convention rather than a ring-gauge designation.

Fun Fact: Sold in boxes of 25, with single-stick MSRP commonly listed in the $11–$13 range depending on retailer.
