Backstory: The Winston Churchill cigar line honors Sir Winston Churchill — statesman, soldier, painter, writer, and a near-constant cigar smoker. The modern range was developed in collaboration with Randolph Churchill, Sir Winston's great-grandson, who described a great cigar as Sir Winston's favourite travelling companion. Every limited release box includes a letter penned by Randolph.

Release: The Winston Churchill brand was acquired and re-blended by Davidoff in the mid-2000s; the current Original Series was unveiled at a pre-launch event in New York on December 8, 2014 and reached Appointed Merchants in the United States in February 2015, with global Davidoff Flagship rollout in March 2015.

Tobacco: A multi-origin blend bound by a Mexican San Andrés leaf, with a complex filler drawing from Dominican and Nicaraguan primings beneath an Ecuadorian Habano Rojiza wrapper. The Rojiza designation refers to the wrapper's reddish hue.

Color: Reddish-brown, lightly oily Rojiza wrapper — a touch of milk-chocolate warmth without crossing into Maduro territory. Mapped to Colorado.

Fun Fact: The Petit Panetela is sold in tins of 5 — engineered as a discreet, mid-length companion the way Sir Winston might have appreciated: rich enough for a meaningful smoke, short enough for a working afternoon.

Fun Fact: The full Winston Churchill umbrella spans several distinct blends — Original Series, The Late Hour (Scotch-cask-aged filler), occasional Limited Editions (e.g. the 2022 release in a briefcase-style box), and the newer Raconteur — making it the most expansive named-tribute collection in the Davidoff catalog.

Some retailers also reference an approximate 4.3 x 34 (110 mm x 34 RG) measurement from Davidoff's metric specs; the commonly cited imperial figures are 4 x 38.
